Educare Conference - 200 Sing, Laugh, Learn

More than 200 child care providers attended LINC's Educare Quality Counts Conference on Saturday, May 22, 2010. Workshops ranged from teaching with laughter and song to nutrition and physical activity and ways to support and encourage parents.

Thomas Moore, Ph.D., thanked participants at the LINC Educare Quality Counts Conference for the life-long positive influence they have on children, families, and society. In his keynote, Moore reminded the crowd of more than 200 child care providers that in most professions no one runs up and "throws their arms around you and says 'I love you!'". Moore, an author and recording artist said he is proud to tell people he is an early childhood educator. Using stories, songs, and sometimes silly exercises, Moore presented techniques for observing and engaging a child's natural curiosity, problem-solving, and development.

The Local Investment Commission's annual Educare event was hosted by the Kauffman Conference Center.
