Independence Schools organize 2010 Project Shine

Once again the Independence School District is organizing its very successful summer school building clean up effort that taps community and volunteer interest in fixing up schools.

This years project will be July 17th from 8 am to 5 pm and involve Truman High School and four elementary schools - Glendale, Luff, Ott and Randall.

The project is looking for volunteers, supplies and corporate sponsors.

The project initially started with six schools that were transferred to Independence from the Kansas City, Mo. School District, but has continued every year since to work on other buildings within the school district.
