LINC produces new community map book
LINC has produced many maps highlighting demographic and socio-economic data important for creating a fuller understanding of our community.
The challenge was to create a booklet that would not only demonstrate maps' power to communicate but also serve as a showcase of LINC's expertise gained over many years of map making. Mapping Our Communities for Change (PDF, 3.91 MB) includes real-world examples of maps that targeted community assistance, changed perceptions, directed funding and focused corporate attention on underserved neighborhoods.
Additional insight on LINC's data mapping capability is provided by two posters: "Building a Community Snapshot" (PDF, 566 KB) and "Poverty Trends 2000-2009" (PDF, 1.63 MB).
Maps were created by Valerie Scott of the LINC information services team.
