After ending its partnership with the Kansas City, Mo. School District, LINC forms new partnerships with school districts, community centers and Charter Schools.

In January 2007, fifteen LINC Caring Communities sites were transitioned to the Kansas City Missouri School District. In April 2007, the LINC Commission votes unanimously to withdraw from the district. In June 2007, LINC finalized the removal of all equipment, resources and staff from the district.

Lights On Afterschool was held at LINC sites all around the city. Lights On Afterschool is a nationwide celebration which expresses the importance of after school programming. Van Horn High School celebrates homecoming with a parade. This is Van Horn's first homecoming since the move into the Independence School District. LINC Caring Communities at Van Horn took part in the event.

LINC returns to six schools, previously in the Kansas City Mo. School District, that are now a part of the Independence School District. Over 2000 community volunteers came out to improve their schools. LINC now has 13 Caring Communities sites in Independence.

The 16th Circuit Children's Division Office, Jackson County, has met the standards for accreditation by the Council on Accreditation. The Children's Division had to meet standards in adoption services, foster care, child protection and family centered casework.

Quality Child Care Matters is a new community campaign to increase awareness and stress the importance of quality accredited child care. Partners in the effort were The Family Conservancy, MARC, and LINC.

LINC is expanding the Families and Schools Together program into all all LINC partner school districts. A dozen LINC Site Coordinators completed a week-long training to become FAST certified facilitators.

KCPT explored the Kansas City area foreclosure issue by telling the story of a house located in northeast Kansas City, Mo.

A press conference was held to raise awareness for the free foreclosure counseling clinic. Those speaking out on the issue were Elma Warwick, Sharon Sanders Brooks, Cindy Circo, Steve Hermes, and a homeowner who faced foreclosure.
