Welfare Reform

LINC partners with residents, providers, employers, faith groups and other interested parties to continually evaluate and modify the local welfare-to-work system.  The goal was to provide a system that was client-driven, customer-friendly and non-duplicative and lent itself to high retention of full-time, unsubsidized employed adults.  This effort has been nationally recognized for its success. read more >>

Somali Community

The Kansas City area is a major U.S. center for settlement of Somali refugees. LINC is working closely with the community to address several needs: child care, health insurance, driver's license and jobs. The LINC has a specific committee working on the issues. If interested in participating, contact Brenda Mitchelson (816) 889-5050.
