Out of School Time
In 1999 LINC created a new out-of-school child care system to replace a collapsing program in the struggling Kansas City, Mo. School District. It used an innovative financing approach that utilized significant funding from three different federal agencies - Child Care Development Block Grant (U.S. Department Health and Human Services); National School Lunch Program (U.S. Dept. of Agriculture); and Title I (U.S. Department of Education) - that not only saved child care but also established a foundation to provide other services such as child welfare, children's health insurance, and parenting classes. read more >>

21st Century Community Learning Centers
Funds from a grant from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will be used over a five-year period to provide after-school academic enrichment, youth development, and expanded parent and community involvement at twelve schools in Kansas City, Mo.
